3 Websites to Save You Money During the Holidays

ImageAnyone who knows me knows that I’m a shrewd shopper. I spend an exorbitant amount of time researching prices and checking reviews online before making any big-ticket purchases. But in the spirit of giving, I’ve decided to share my three favorite sites for finding deals on everything from air tickets to electronics.

  1. Decide amalgamates product reviews and prices from various websites. However, it’s greatest contribution to saving you money is the “Price Alert” option which will send you an email once the price of the item you’re tracking has been reduced. It was through this alert that I found out that Best Buy was offering a USD 50 discount on the iPad 4. Unfortunately, Best Buy sold out before I could purchase it, but it just goes to show you that you can still find deals on even the most popular items.
  2. Kayak – Similar to Decide, Kayak offers a price alert informing you of reductions in air ticket prices. You simply select your destination and max price, and you’ll receive an email once the price has fallen within your price range.
  3. ITAwhich was purchased by Google, is a search engine that allows you to check prices from a variety of airlines. I’ve found some pretty good deals from this website including a round trip flight from Beijing to Los Angeles for around USD 900. The only downside is that you can’t purchase tickets directly from the site, so you’ll have to go to the relevant airline’s website or you can book through a travel agent by providing them with a code on the itinerary page.

So why spend countless hours trying to find the best deal when you can have discount sites do all of the work for you?
