A few weeks ago, I made a quick trip to northern India to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of one of Asia’s most mystical countries. I went in expecting to find a new culture, but what I discovered was something alien to that of the Western world.
I was fortunate to experience the circle of life in India — the birth of a newborn child, a wedding ceremony, and a funeral. The following picture was part of the ceremony for the newborn baby. A group of elder women sit next to each other partaking in the festivities and gawking at the outsider.
The consummate fan of monkeys, I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by this little guy. I guess he was just as shocked to see me.
