Climbing to Mt. Everest base camp, trudging through the scorching sands of Egypt – these all pale in comparison for what lies ahead for me this Saturday. Deemed one of the most difficult marathons in the world – the Great Wall Marathon covers a distance of 42.195 km and over 5,000 steps.
In the ultimate test of physical and mental strength, I will be battling my greatest opponent – myself. Blood and sweat will litter the ground as I push myself to the ultimate limit. Exhaustion and agony — my adversaries. Willpower and determination – my allies.
After months of training, it is finally time to compete in the most grueling physical challenge of my life.
…see you at the finish line….
